I’m going to have a busy day today. I’m getting a 120 gallon setup that is not broken down yet. I have to empty that first. Once I get it home I’m moving a 75 gallon freshwater tank out of the way for the 120 reef. The freshwater will go where my current 90 gallon reef is. I’m going to empty my 90 into the 120 and get that out so that I can put the freshwater tank back up. Do you have any tips for moving tanks? All tips are appreciated!

Hire a good team..... What type fish in freshwater? place fish in a brute, witha heater and water movement. then drain freshwater where its safe to move. then the 120 brought in. do whats needed for 90, then reset up 75, float fish,,,,, Should take you a few hrs. Big project. have fun....

well a little late for this advice but have enough water made up ahead of time to do this....and enough pre washed new sand for the 120 and throw the other guys stuff away....a trip to tractor supply for at least 20 food grade 5 gal buckets....have stuff you can shim the 120 stand with if necessary...pumps to transfer water....and lots of volunteers that arent aware of what they're getting themselves into...i built a temporary stand to put my existing tank a couple feet away form its original location so the new one could go where it had been....so you could have had the 75and/or the 90 out of the way ahead of time so the game of musical chairs might not have been so frantic

As for moving the tanks .
hire a mover lol

bought a 230 gal and it was the best idea ever .
I was going to ask about this myself. We have a 180 on order and my years of heavy lifting are behind me. LOL I contacted a local mover and he said call when it comes in and he will come see. He did say they have moved larger ones in the past. We could likely get some helpers but paying professionals would likely be worth it in avoiding any drama.

By no means did I mean any disrespect... It a tough process, on tanks of these size, An yes African are super hardy.... It will be interesting to see if there is a change in hierarchy once they are reintroduce to the 75.
