Got it thanks for you guys helpNo that should be fine. Up to .06 I think is acceptable. NO3 20-30 and Alk 8.0-8.5 for growth. These are what I keep mine at. Remember though, every tank is different so a little tweeking may be necessary.
No different than keeping other Acros.
I dunno, mine has definitely been the most finicky acro I’ve ever kept. In 1.5 years I’ve had this piece STN on me twice. She always comes back pretty strong but definitely the first to let me know I need to pay more attention to chemistry.
That being said, SSC seems to be able to handle as much light as you can throw at it. When I’ve pushed my Radion too high and had other acro’s start to pale, SSC just gets richer in color. Just a little more sensitive to water quality in my experience.
Here’s 7/23/2018 to 2/4/2020. Worth the trouble if you ask me.

SSC loves to spread so give it plenty of room! A small frag can encrust up to 6” diameter in a year.
I am certainly no expert in the SSC but there are two different ones. The regular SSC and one called an Ultimate SSC. The one on the right looks like thatGuys, a little help, which one is SSC between the two frags in the front? Thanks.![]()
The right one was sold to me as SSC. It is apple green with pink coralites. The left one was also sold as SSC by a different seller. The growth pattern on the right is curious. They both get the same flow.
Both are likely SSC (A. Microclados) variantsGuys, a little help, which one is SSC between the two frags in the front? Thanks.![]()
