Hi all.
I’ve been keeping SPS now for about 3-4 months. They’re doing very well, good growth and colouring.
Current SPS are .....
Birdnest
Stylophora
Playing Montipora
Branching montipora.

I’ve just ordered an acropora online to try!; see what happens.
Any tips or tricks with this species
Parameters are as follows.......
All are stable.
KH- 7.3-7.6
PH- 8-8.5
Phosphate <0.5
Nitrates - 5ppm
Nitrite- -0
Mg- 1500
Calcium -470-480

Feed reef roids x2 weekly

Thanks all
Emma

I have never personally kept Acroproa but from everything I have read and researched about them, you need to have rock solid parameters and cant have any drastic and/or quick swings in anything. they like a very clean and stable environment.

Looking at the polyp extension and colors of your monti's i can't see you having any issues at all. What is the acro you have coming so we can give you an idea where to place it. :)

Your parameters all look good too. I’d recommend not letting po4 bottom out so make sure it is always readable.

Hard to tell with the blue light, but well established rock is key. While I managed to keep my sps alive for the first year in my new tank with new rock, it was difficult with lots of challenges and some losses. After the year mark, they took off. That was around the time the coralline algae also took off so it is a great indicator.

It’s called a ‘lime shock’ acropora. The one in the picture is the one I’ve ordered. Placement wise, I’ve no idea, was thinking just above the Birdnest?

My acroporas Love pulsing flow, high quality lighting, and somewhat “dirty” water. What size is your tank and what lights are you using?

Your po4 is <0.5 or did you mean 0.05?
