Any Trigger Platinum sump users out there?

Right now the float switch in the filter section is as high as it will go, so the level in that section is at its max. If I put the float switch lower, then the roller is almost constantly on. I had to turn down the flow on my Vectra M2, I think I am running it at maybe 25-30% of its max (max flow is rated at 2000 GPH). The overflow is rated at 750-1500 GPH, so I didn't think it was an over flow problem. I am sure I am with in the range for the overflow. If anything I think that the filter fleece section cannot handle any more flow than it is right now. Trigger says the Platinum sumps are rated to 3000 GPH, but I doubt it.
I’ve ran my L2 on my trigger sump at 95% with no water level issues. I also have the 39”. The only issue I had with my sump was the motherboard crapping out relatively early and the roller not being activated. Try giving them a call.

Don't be too sure your L2 is pushing that much water. I'm using an L1 at 80% with hard plumbing. I also have a flow meter on it. I'm getting about 260gal/hr.

What you say??? How can that be?

A couple things to note for my system and these pumps...
1. They don't do great with back pressure
2. I used 3/4 pipes and have 6 elbows
3. Return pipe on my tank is 3/4 (its what Red Sea 525xl uses)
4. An open return 3/4 pipe maxes out at about 400gal/hr (or 600gal/hr...can't remember which)

Yeah I run straight flex tubing on my tank. Not by choice lol. I have a manifold with my uv and a media reactor but that’s before the flex tubing.

hate red sea and their dang 3/4" plumbing. what the heck. never again.

Its my last tank and I'm stuck with it at this point. Anyway, you really don't need 10x to the sump. 2-3x is more then enough as long as you have great flow in tank.

I've noticed with my Platinum 34 that the 1st chamber after the filter roller has no surface flow which causes a film to develop.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a solution to this?

Ok. I think I fixed this by running my chiller output to 1st chamber with an elbow output that get good surface agitation...without noise.

what the heck are these things for? ok i see from video one goes around the cable for roller but why is there two? also the "cable management"doesnt look like it can deal with too much cable. Was hoping for skimmer, roller, apex probe wires.... maybe i need to get more into it. can anyone comment?

I'm hoping you guys can help, it's probably simple but I can not figure it out.

I have a broken fleece and control box mount (I see I'm not the only one.) Trigger sent a replacement, but I don't know how to remove the control box. Does the cog/gear come off? I can't remove the control box without removing that...

The cog just pulls straight off.

I had the same thing happen in shipping now my motor stopped working

I just bought the 20 Cube for my new build, and this roller mat sump is one of the only new pieces of equipment that didn't cause me extreme frustration during this build.

Well built. doesn't what it advertises.

Where does every one buy the filter rolls from? BRS is sold out most of the time.
I don't know if Trigger usually sells them on their website, but right now they have some 6 packs of the 10" rolls on the accessories page.
It says they were cut short at around 100' instead of 150'. It appears they reduced the price accordingly.

I have the 39" sump. The controller broke, they said they'd send me a new one. Never got it. So I made one out of an ESP8266, if anyone wants the code and diagram let me know. One advantage is that I can now send out a MQTT message that records when it advances. This allows me to approximate how much is left.

I kind of love the sump, honestly. I dumped my homemade one. I was so sick of filter socks. I think one of the issues I am pondering is can you reuse the rolls by washing them somehow. I hate to just throw them out.... here is a mini map of where the sensors are and such.

I know this is reviving an old thread, but I was wondering if @ntableman wouldn't mind sharing the wiring diagram, the code and parts required to make that happen.
