Any update: Kessil a360x????

Just talked to my lfs owner and he said they are taking orders now with open release dates in early November. I talked to him on price and he said his cost is $50 more then the normal A360WE tuna blues.
I’m getting 4 to replace my 6 AI Sol Blues.

4!!!!!! That ludicrous :)

But thank you for the info!

Out of interest I’d like your opinion.

I’m running an a350 now on a 24x24 I haven’t been running it at 100% do you think it’s till a worthy upgrade (I do know it’s a much brighter light)

From my understanding it has much better spectrum and much brighter then a A350. 1 should be great over your tank. I have a 240 so I wanted 6 like how I’m running my AI’s now and he talked me out of it as with my T5’s he said 4 would be better then what I have now. We will see in about a month.

They can be pre-oredered from some places. Don't think anyone has these over their tank just yet though. I'm thinking about preordering a couple myself.
Correct the release date is mid November. Preorders will be first then normal stock is how it was explained to me

I plan to acquire one when they come out to see for myself. I believe they are to retail for $449 versus $349 for the current model .... so a $100 premium. In the announcements, kessil did say that the new light would be brighter at the same nominal 90 watts and that there would be additional color controls. Whether this constitutes 'much better' spectrum is entirely speculative, and i will want to see for myself. Apparently the dimming capabilities extend to zero, rather than 12%, so that's a positive. Not compatible with apex, requiring a separate controller, so that's a negative.

basically its prices at the Radion XR30s and Hydra 52HDs....?

Well I’m not sure if it’s cheaper due to pre order or not but I paid $395 each. They will be Apex controllable but as of the last report they just needed to change the present apex cable with the 3.5mm headphone style plug to a mini usb plug like for your cell phones. I’m sure both companies want that to happen just no time line.

*update the price as I looked after I typed it and was off by $20 each.

I've seen no credible reports saying apex control is planned. Apex would want it, but not so clear that kessil would now that they make their own controllers. Vectra was supposed to be 'just a matter of time' to apex control. Never happened.

Oh, and the new lights are not just two control channels anymore; so the variable speed ports won't work fully. It'd presumably have to be the WXM module, but does the 360x have wireless? Maybe that's what the dongle thingee is for.

I’m sure with all the tech guys out here someone will make one. I don’t presently have a Apex as I was one of the unfortunate people that dropped a good amount of money on a reefkeeper to find out weeks later they closed their doors and left us with zero support. I now wish I spent the few days xtra bucks and bought the apex

I had a reefkeeper years ago but sold it off to go apex. I certainly hope the 360x ends up being apex controllable, either by VDM or WXM; I just think it prudent to assume not and then be pleasantly surprised LOL.
