I'm wondering if there is any useful purpose for the spent carbon or GFO after its removed from its reactor? Garden maybe? anything? or just throw it out?

Since I go through 6 cups or carbon and 4 cups of GFO monthly -- 72 cups and 48 cups annually, it seems like that is enough waste to use elsewhere if it has a purpose.

I was thinking the same thing. I would think that it couldn't hurt mulching it into the garden.

that actually was my original thought, but the gardens belong to Reneé and she thinks it a bad idea... so somebody else is going to have to try it...

I was hoping to have someone jump in and say, "I use it for XXXX and it works great", but I guess everyone just throws it out???

Awwww heck.

I'll dump some into a flower pot. And see what it does. Winter annuals should be in by now.
