Any way to stop flame ange from nipping?

This lil ******* won’t stop nipping at my new acan frags. he leaves all my other coral alone for the Most part but he just won’t stay away from these. I really like the fish and would hate to have to take him back to the shop. Is there anyone to make him stop ? lol

These fleshy lps tend to be what dwarfs go after most. You can attempt more feedings or perhaps adding nori but will probably come down to the fish or the acans.

If these ate occasional nips most larger colonies will be ok(but if its constant not so much)

I wish I had responsible advice but I only stopped mine by accident. He was a universal coral biting nightmare. I was about to bring him back it was so bad. Then one day he had a run in with a new neon dottyback and now they put all of their effort into pestering each other & stealing each other's food. I will say that, in general, a well fed (balanced) f.a. is less of a nuisance than a hungry one. Mine likes a combination of high protein mysis/blackworm/fish fillet mush alternated with spirulina flakes.

ok, guess ill try feeding more. I usually feed mysis once a day and some flake food through out the day just whenever I feel like watching them eat lol

If you avoid the fleshy LPS, acans, scollys, trachy, etc you might have better luck.

Um, and I might lose 50 pounds too. :-(

Find a new home for it.. Thats what one vendor at RAP told me few years back and I finally gave in when my SPS PE wasnt good. It sucks bcs flames are one of the most stunning bright red fish one can own. but the constant grazing and nipping is not worth it..

Its a Dwarf Angel.... that's what Dwarf Angel's do. It ain't its fault. Sorry for the bluntness

Dwarf Angel's are to be avoided in tanks with precious acans or zoas

In my opinion there is no reef safe Dwarf Angel other than a Coral Beauty

Just have to decide which you like better. I chose my dwarf angels so no large polyped corals.

I only keep euphylia with mine as far lps go. Not a sure thing but their potent stings tend keep them relatively safe.

Anytime I read or am told, "Generally this fish is reef safe with CAUTION"

That actually means to me in my book, RUN the other way and dont buy it, even it's the coolest fish I have ever laid eyes on
