I have been battling a white sponge in my tank for a couple months now and I am on the brink of replacing my current rock with live rock from my lfs, scrubbing each and every piece of coral, and praying for the best. The sponge has been growing and spreading at a very rapid pace. Does anyone have any experience with killing a very invasive spong?

Can we see a pic of the sponge

It killed my monti frag And it has just spread to my Acans
Really curious to see how it looks like, not seen many invasive white sponges.

Always hear people say not to let sponge be exposed to air or it will kill them from the inside out, so maybe daily micro bubble treatment? blast some air into your wavemakers and hope the small bubbles get stuck in the sponge maybe?

Here is a pic of the sponge. Also I have been dosing vibrant for 2 months now.

I have that same sponge but mine are light neon green. Mine are in the low light. Could yours be white because it’s in higher par? I started with 1 sponge and now maybe 20 in my 40 gallon...took 5 months for the increase

Its poriferan sponge. It will dry out when exposed to air. If you can , pull piece and place in container upside down allowing Monti to remain wet/submersed and trim away the sponge and let rest semi dry out in the air for a few minutes. Should stop it.
