Any wrasse for 20 gallon

apart from the pink streak?

what about the diamond tail wrasse? only gets 3 inches
Not recommended since most wrasses need ample swimming space, even the 3 inchers. There's argument that flashers, despite being small, need 4ft+ tanks due to their inherent flashing behavior (zooming super fast across the tank). For nanos, I understand it's just the pinkies and possibly possums, although I read in places that possums need 30gal tanks. @i cant think @Slocke @Crabby48 can better advise on this.

Hard to find here sometimes, too. I've got my QT guy looking for a young female pinkie for a couple of months now and no dice.

flashers need more room then fairy’s. Minimum 4’ and they do need height. No know tanks like lagoon.
Pinkie is about it. Wrasse stress in smaller tanks and get hurt or will live a stressed short life.

Diamondtail will get bigger than 3”. They are a little bigger than most flashers.

If someone could make a 3" Halichoeres, you'd be set. Alas, the smallest get to 4.5-5".

For fairies, I think the ones on the smaller side are the Marjories (not common), maybe C. rubeus, and I'm not sure about Lubbock's. @i cant think has a great knowledge of them and their needs. @Slocke also has a book on them with details, I think.

Is it a 20 cube or a 20 long?

what about fairy wrasse any of them for a 20 gallon? OR is it literally just a pink streak
Cirrhilabrus isosceles may work temporarily however you’ll want at a minimum 2.5’ length (ideally 3’) and 16” in width.

I’ve also had Naokoae also work in nano systems short term, but this is another one that ideally wants 2.5-3’ length to swim in.

As for the Diamond Tail, mine is just under 3 inches (possibly 2.5” at the minimum) and yet when he’s not pushed into hiding he is up and swimming in circles around my other wrasses (Displaying, he doesn’t have UNWD). They’re nice in display but the downside to them is when they aren’t in display they have a lot more black in their fins.

If you can, I’d personally wait for a pink streak or ask an LFS to see if they can get one in. Although you’ll possibly be waiting until March for the main income of them (They seem to come in from February-April and then vanish until August-October).
