It's Hot! my house can't seem to get cooler than 79 degrees, but my tank is only getting up to 80.2.

Yeah tell me about it I had to buy an extra space air conditioner to help my old unit along. I got one with a dehumidifier to help with that muggy-Ness.

For those of you reefers about to "rock"- we salute you ;)

mine are on a power strip connected to my controller. that said, the switch is turned off. ill gladly take an extra degree of coolling over the night if I can get it. I keep my controller set to 80 during the summer. the chiller seems to be very happy at that temp.

thats funny, since switching to LEDs I have had to lower my heaters setpoint so they do not come on so much. My heaters are coming on about 4 x's a day now vs 2 x's before the switch. I keep my house at 76* during the day and my tank stays 79 now during the day but will drop quickly to 77 if I leave the fans on. I do have a lot of evaportive cooling though, at least 1-2 gallons a day.

Let your tank fall to the lowest natural temp in the house , Then set the Heaters just below that point by 1/2 a degree. This keeps your power use to a minimum and your tank at a level temp for the most part. You can run as low as 74 degree's with no problems but try to stay below 79 if possible. JMO
