This is time well spent, in fact, this is where most of time goes, watching, looking, seeing what's new, or how big they have grown. I don't watch TV anymore!

I work overnights and its the first thing I do in the morning when I walk in..my wife isnt too happy about it though :( :)

Literally the first thing I do every single morning and as soon as I get home from work. Also check to make sure that no corals have fallen down. And can't sleep with my bedroom door open anymore because I hear bubbling/splashing and assume something is leaking. I get up in the middle of the night to check on things at least once a week. Anxiety is terrible.

For years I thought I was the only one...nice to see we all have a little ocd.

In my tank, most fish/invert deaths seem to occur at night. Knowing that, I feel it is mandatory to do a headcount first thing in the morning.

Then comes the hard part...finding the bodies.

First thing in the morning, first thing when I walk in the door. Sometimes my husband texts me updates at work, just because :)

Knock on wood my tanks very stable and everything seems like it's going to last awhile, so I don't really have the anxiety of the "head count". But I still check it out first thing and admire everything in it for a few when I wake up.

I've gone back and forth about moving my nano in my bedroom but I wonder if I'd get any sleep or just stare at the tank all night lol

I'd never get out of bed.

Yes ,here also , i set my blue light To come on low at 06.00 so i can check my tank before leaving for work , couple of my chromis are late sleepers and dont always make it for roll call :D:D:mad:

Ha ha, yes me too! I realised my priorities might be a little skewed recently... I had been staring intently into the tank for about 15 mins when my other half asked what I was doing... 'just checking things' I said... 'oh ok' she says 'where are the kids?' My reply... 'I've no idea'!!

Not only do I perform an assessment of them every morning but I also think they perform an assessment of me! Like, whether or not I've got their breakfast cups.
