I don’t know the adult colouration but I know max size is 13 cm

Sorry. That is a sub adult. An adult looks a lot uglier which is always the case with these damsels.

Wow that is no where near as good as juvenile but anybody who wants a black fish like a shadow running around in there tank get it if not stay away from it because it is very aggressive because it is a damsel

But if you want juvenile colours keep one when it’s young and if you know how to catch fish remove it when it’s older and buy a juvenile one and if you get attached to it then tough look

No but I’ve had other damsels and will never ever do it again. Devilish little monsters. Extremely aggressive toward any other fish I put in there regardless of size or temperament. Then when you decide you’ve made a terrible mistake and want to return them to the LFS, they are nearly impossible to catch. Took weeks and the use of a trap to get them out.

Who are ‘they’ lol?

Answer, of course, is that the majority of people buying these don’t bother to do any research. Ooh, shiny …..

Then, a few months and 13 cm later, buyers remorse.

I only keep the Chrysiptera (sp?) genus, most of which are fine …. except the ones with devil in their common name, which ought to be an adequate hint.

Yes right know I only keep a very peaceful 5 cm lemon damsel and a jewel damsel who is aggressive to new additions but he is okay that’s the only damsels I keep. Maybe I might go for a starcki damsel apparently they are not that aggressive

Because people buy them.
