Anybody have experience with the seneye reef.?

hi ,
I've been toying with the idea of buying a seneye reef ,does anybody use one or have experience with it .. are a they good , does the par meter work well with them ..
Would love too hear any comments or advice about it ..

I purchased the seneye reef from BRS. I mainly purchased it for the par meter function.
Setup was a bit of an issue as it would not work until the seneye team re-flashed the wireless module with a different firmware. Keep in mind they are located overseas so you have to wait for their assistance during their work hours (their response was immediate and fixed the issue).
I will continue to use the seneye to monitor ph for a short time however I am purchasing a controller to replace it.
If you are looking for a par meter it does a great job.
Also if you are looking to monitor your aquarium for temp, ph and ammonia it does what it says.

I got one a really long time ago. I just use it for the PAR meter. The new software is great. All in all if anything it's worth the $150 for the PAR meter.

Ditto above. I have a profilux on order and tried this. pH isnt reading right vs my test kit. (Reads high). Temp is useful. I plugged it in to my PC bit data doesn't save if the pc sleeps. So have to keep computer near the tank. Kinda pain to me. I won't be getting another chip.

@saltyfilmfolks mentioned something about it in another post. Made me want to shy away from the par meter side of it. I think it was something like all the par values are lux/30? But I can't remmeber specifics.

I use it for my QT tanks to monitor PH, water level, ammonia, and temp.

The par feature is nice but it's much better with the wifi server to use on tanks that I don't always have livestock in since I use more robust controllers for my display tanks. The ammonia / ammonium feature is nice because you will see a problem coming. Again, this feature is best for me in my QT tanks but I will occasionally put it in my display to see how close numbers are. And they are spot on. It also saved me a couple times in the last 30 days with two crappy heaters that failed in my QT frag tank. It texted me and I solved it.

It's a valuable tool and worth it. Even with the web server version.

Funny how with my light and seneye the par is lux/40.

It means nothing really. Just that people tend to use anecdotal evidence as absolute fact. The seneye is not a bad device especially for the price.

This isn't accurate. The monitoring, texting, and reporting all work just fine in iOS. I use the app from the App Store and it displays accurately. I view graphs and it opens Safari for detailed review of parameters.

I have not tried to use the PAR meter with anything but a PC.

Oh sorry if I'm wrong, I thought you needed to purchase an additional wifi adapter to make this work with iOS
