Anybody make a plywood tank.?

I built a 6 ft. x 3 ft. X 16" frag tank about 10 yrs. ago. Used 3/4 ply and 2 part epoxy paint from Aquatico. It was built as an all-in-one , with the overflow to skimmer and fuge built in the end. Had a 3/8" glass panel on the front. Used it a couple of years and one of the shops talked me out of it. Wish I would have kept it. Had a slide out frag cutting table built in it too.
Never had any problems with it.

my granddad used to build them when he was a breeder. he always said
"1. be sure you use a good glue before you screw them together
2. use quality screws and predrill your holes so the wood doesn't split.
3. use a quality liner (now a days we use pondarmour)
4. use proper braces outside and double the plywood if youre using plywood sides instead of glass"
those were his 4 basic rules lol. some of his tanks lasted 20+ years without failing and that's using old pond liners that aren't even made anymore. imagine using a quality epoxy based liner like pond armor and a good glue!

I have built several acrylic sumps ,one was 48X20X16. None leaked. But not enough skill to build a aquarium.
Mostly I enjoy wood working. DIY baby.!!
