Natural filtration always interested me from day one. I'm about ready to start the 3rd phase of the project if possible and feasible. I want to put together a kryptic zone for my system.
Wonder if some of you folks could give me some input.
I have a 700 gallon system. I'm wondering what size kryptic zone should I need? What temperature should I maintain in the kryptic zone? Is it worth doing it? Should I go with cylindical shape kryptic zone? I rather go with a rectangular shape since many large acrylic tanks are mostly available in square shape.
Thanks in advance for the input.

i run a cryptic zone
nothing fancy - just a tank with rock in elevated milk crates and a power head
about 1/3 of my water volume and 100 lbs of rock or so
believe it helps but no scientific proof to offer
temp is the same as display as the water flows through it. i have a three tank sump system - lighted fuge, cryptic fuge, and a skimmer/equipement tank

As soon as I get my new frag tank up I will have a remote DSB/cryptic zone in a 50L. I'll have to slow the flow down I believe as soon as i clean out the corals...
Need to read up on them more though first so I do things "right"
