I was wondering if anyone doses nopox in there reef tanks? I have both good and bad things about it.

Ive been dosing it on and off for the last few months when I start to get little bursts of green algae. Seems to make it fade out pretty quickly after a few days. Im not really sure about the redsea program because its a carbon dosing system where they recommend running alk at like 12 dkh. No matter what kind of carbon dosing ive done Ive always ran alk around 7-8dkh like NSW. If you do decide to use it just make sure you start off slow.

I have tried vodka and ues have kept my alk at around 7-8 ish. I have just heard that nopox is supposedly a better thing to use since its harder to over dose.

I be been using it for 2 years now and love it! Don't ever have any nitrates in my tank

I use vinegar. I spend 4 bucks on a gallon that lasts me 3 months. Seems like a better deal to me.

How is thay dosed? Vinegar I ask? Nopox smells alot like vinegar mixed with some thing else

I dose it throughout the daytime, hourly via a dosing pump. There are other options though. To me, this is the only downside to vinegar. Because it can lower ph, it should not be bolus dosed, like you can with vodka.

If you're running kalk in your top off water, you can dose vinegar through there as well
