Anyone built a Faraday Cage for their Salt Probe?

Im at wits end with my Neptune conductivity probe. I’ve spent hours on the phone. We replaced the base unit. Then we replaced the probe. Probe works. But something in my tank is throwing it off! And I can’t find it.

I know it’s in my tank because as soon as I remove the probe in a cup of water, out of the sump, it goes back to accurate.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Creative ideas? I’m all ears!
 
You've checked for interference along the cord? Can you isolate it - put the probe into a cup and direct a trickle of tank water into the cup that then overflows into the sump.
 
Stopped using conductivity probes in saltwater too much interference with the salts to be worth it.

I have one but I pay it no attention.
 
The trickle in the cup is a good thought. I may give that a shot and see what happens. I do have a grounding probe. But I seriously dought it’s zero voltage. Almost impossible with all that equipment. I’m about to say heck with this probe and let it be.
 
I made a point when I reinstalled the new probe to make sure it’s very isolated.
 
are all your surge protectors showing proper ground and protection on your electrical circuits?
 
My conductivity probe (a GHL ProfiLux probe) works best in a very fast flowing environment. If I place it in calm area - it will show lesser and lesser readings - when this happens - is enough to move the probe a little - and it goes back to reading the right value. In a high flowing part of the sump - it always show right. if you use a cup _ be sure it is a rather high flow through it.

true for me also. all my probes seems to be more stable in high current
 
Coincidentally, I added the cup and probe to the return chamber of my sump. Seems to be working okay at the moment.
