Anyone converted an AIO to have an additional sump, without drilling?

Mostly this post is because R2R is bugging me about only being 90% fully activated, and this post is the requirement to get to 100% (even though I've authored plenty of other posts). [EDIT--I'm now 100%, mission accomplished.] But I will seize this opportunity anyways. So I have the RS MAX NANO 20G, and I am considering adding a sump for pods at some point, but I do not want to drill the aquarium. Anyone else have similar experiences (doesn't have to be a nano--any tank, for that matter). Do's or don'ts, tips and tricks?

How about a hob refugium like the aquafuge?

Do you have one? Is it super quiet? Will the overflow/return fit into a pretty narrow footprint--would be using it on a RS Max Nano--have about 4 inches of horizontal space in the return chamber (the largest one)?

Ya I have the large sized one. It only extends about 2 inches horizontally into my tank. I really like the fuge. It basically turned my bowfront tank into an aio. Mine is just packed with live rock and my heaters are in there.

As for the sound I cant comment as I am using a different pump than what comes stock.

Good to know! Thanks! It's certainly on the list now. Wondering if folks have done under-tank sumps. I have room in my cabinet for about a 5-gallon.
