On our 125g we want to use a cover to keep jumping fish,... in the display, and to keep down on evaporation. So, it would be great to hear if you've done a light Par test on the types we use today.

All I've ever use is factory glass lids or open tank.

Glass
Plastic
The bubble mesh (don't know what it's really called)
Screen mesh
Screen door fabric
DIY

Please post pics, where you bought it of if it's a DIY, list all parts.

How is your choice working out ?

I have a 1/2 glass center brace on my old Oceanic tank and it lowers par between 15 and 25% depending on how clean I keep the glass. There is no difference in the 1/2 mesh netting that you can get at Marine Depot or BRS and make your own tops out of screen frames. These are the only two that I have in my home and have tested.

I also saw about a 20% decrease in par going through a 1/2” piece of Starphire glass.

I like the Kessil's. I have several, but not this style.
How was the notched in the glass cut ?
How is it anchored into the wall ?
Why was the glass used ?
I've never seen this before, very cleaver !

Following...too worried about my wrasse bailing out to go open top. Very interested in this as preparing to do a new build.

Eggcrate works. Can focus light if positioned properly due to parabolic construction.
