Anyone dose iodine or iodide in there stick tank

Just did a test on iodine and iodide using the salifert kit and it shows I have 0ppm of iodine and iodide in my tank. Wondering if I should start dosing either bright wells iodide or lugola iodine to raise it or does it not matter when it comes to sticks? I know macro algae and some soft corals use it not sure if it's a waste to dose for sps

Duke, I dose 4 drops of lugol's weekly in my system, arbitrary reasons . I have an iodine kit but haven't tested in months. I'll check it soon.

I add 20ml of iodine per 1 gal of ALK solution in my 2 part. Keeps it at .06

Totally not needed as long as you feed your tank with some regularity. Also, iodine tests kits in the hobby are basically useless and don't really have the resolution to be useful.

I do 2ml per day of iodide on doser in my 100 gallon. One triton test said I was low a month later I did another and now it's in the green. Other snake oils I dose are Flatworm stop @ 2.5ml per day and coral booster @ 2ml per day.

wait so is it the same as lugols solution? considering it says that right on the package haha

Why did you pick this over lugols, etc?

I was told by a friend to dose Iodide instead of iodine.

Not very good at the chemistry, whatever it is I love it!
