It’s an absolute obsession. Am I right ?

I personally, for myself, it's a escape from reality. As tough as life can be on us, it's a place to put our minds from time to time. Good thing.
 
I can’t just glance at the tank. I have to stop and take it in. And think “those polyps were not opened last time I came through” stuff like that. I’m glad R2R is here so you all can re assure me that I’m not crazy... well not totally crazy anyway.

It's really a form of meditation. I find it very similar to freediving. It's as if the beauty of the ocean and the life within in it is so astounding that you can't worry about the past or the future, you can only process what you're seeing when you are truly in the present. The mindfulness we can find simply by looking through the glass of our aquariums never ceases to amaze me.
