FedEx has been measurably worse than UPS since the pandemic. USPS has become completely non functional for any time sensitive shipments.
With FedEx, in my experience, most problems can be solved by having the package delivered to your local FedEx Shipping Center instead of your house. As an added bonus, if you do this, there is no difference between priority and standard overnight so you can save some money.
Of course it doesnt solve the stuck in Memphis problem. But in my experience, most fedex problems happen between the local hub and your house.
