Anyone ever bit by a venomous Blenny?

Especially a Canary Blennie, it's meaner than my Clownfish.... Just bit me, and left a red mark... I'm wondering what to expect?

I never knew there were blennys that were venomous!
I did some reading, and I've found a post about it on rc.
SDguy said, "Just slightly worse than a bee sting, more physical damage though, IME..."

are you allergic to bee stings?

if so, then watch it carefully.

if not, I would still get the Benadryl ready.

I would take 2 benadryl just in case. Benadryl won't hurt you just make you sleepy.

I'm not sure if their venom is anything like lionfish or foxface venom, but if it is then you want to run your finger under hot water (as hot as you can stand it) for 20 minutes. This will break down the venom.

i worked at a retail shop years ago that had fang blennies in various tanks and was always getting pecked. those things are stupid mean!

I say do it all, benadryl, hot water, and find as many people to pee on it as possible. Then give the blenny a taste of its own venom by peeing on the blenny...
