Anyone ever collected rain water for their tank?

I think it would depend on where you are...

Inner city NY/LA? Heck no.

Middle of no where? Quite possibly, as long as you can get it into your reservoir cleanly.

My wife and I honeymooned in Bermuda where all of the drinking water is collected from rain, quite literally the best water I have ever had to drink.

Me any my desire to put only known clean water into my tank, I would find a way to still run it through an RODI system first.

I used melted snow in my tank once. Zero tds. No problems from it. I had no problems using it. Ive been considering using it exclusively with my upcoming greenhouse system im building. I like the idea because the tds should be near zero and if I ran it through an ro it would eliminate most everything else im assuming. The only questionable thing was it taste like plastic. But this is snow and not rainwater.

Here we have acid rain. Never for me
