Anyone ever directly dump detritus into a skimmer?

So in an effort to clean up my display lately and get back to coral ect I've been dumping detritus into my post skimmer nylon sock. Well tonight I just took the lid off and directly squirted into my skimmer body with my large pink turkey baster. Lol!
Well here are the results. A mud milkshake. Lol.

Anyone ever just directly dump the detritus directly back into the skimmer?

I'm a firm believer your display is only as clean as the filters. Lol.
Clean filters. Clean display.... don't forget to scrub the walls! Lol
