Looking for a solution to keep my salt mix dry in a 5g bucket. The typical bucket lids are too hard for me to get off. Wondering if this will work or will it just shoot salty dust everywhere? Anyone used this before?

Try using a layer of Glad Press n Seal or a heavy duty garbage bag. Then tap the lid down in 3 locations instead of all the way around. I do this with grass seed and bird seed and seems to keep it dry.

Do you mean with the normal snap on lids?

I am new to hobby and learning and have not set up a tank yet. So I am assuming a bucket of salt has a similar lid as a typical Home Depot 5 gal bucket and lid. If so I usually just snap it down at the 12, 4, and 8 o’clock points. It locks the lid and keeps the moisture out of my seed. Suggesting you use a garbage bag, Saran Wrap etc as an additional moisture barrier before snapping the lid in place

If you live in a humid place and have problems with clumping the removal of most of the air will be a huge benefit. If I was still in Florida I would be psyched at your find and would have one in my cart already.

I’m in the Midwest but it’s kinda humid in my basement where my tank and supplies are. I’m going to try the bag method that @Weasel1960 mentioned and if that doesn’t work then I’ll try this lid.
