Anyone from Ireland

There are some on here Scott, I can bump the thread to see if we can get you some attention

I am Irish-American. I have this on my front door:

My grandfather came here, let's say, after having a bit of a run-in with some Black and Tans during the Irish Revolution and had to get out of the county.

Ha! My ancestors came from Ireland as well…..I definitely have the luck of the Irish! My gramps often said that if the Scots hadn’t invented whiskey that we Irish would rule the world….

I can tell you that the Guinness in Ireland tastes nothing like the Guinness elsewhere in the world, including England.

They line them up on the bar, until perfect, and it tastes like nowhere else. You just want to drink it, and drink it, well until you, well, can’t anymore!! Lol

…and if you touch it before it’s settled out they’ll beat you over the head! I don’t remember if I drank more Guinness, ate more bread, or ate more chocolate at the plant. Everything tasted pretty darn good!

That about sums it up!

And a thousand welcomes to you also ^_^

I'm not Irish but my grandad was born in little village outside of Cork in county Cork and moved to England for work when turned adult.
So got my Irish surname O'connor from him which from research I did was "old connaught" or maybe different spelling as long ago looked Into it,was last high king of Ireland but anyone with a gaelic sounding surname had to change when the English landed or something along those lines.

Edit : yeah remembered it slightly wrong it seems according to above, was high king of " connaught "

Being from the us, I made the mistake of grabbing the pint as soon as it was poured and placed on the bar…….I wasn’t planning on straight drinking it, it’s just commonplace to snag it before it disappears. Oh man, I got yelled at…they told everyone to look at this yank! I learned pretty quick….do not touch the pint!
