Getting prepared for a new build and would appreciate any input
Looking for lighting options and I would like to run 72" blade fixture with T5 and Radion 30s.
I have been unable to find a fixture. Any suggestions?

Thanks and Happy reefing
Dan

Try reaching out to Reefbum. Dave has a service where he works with you for an hour. Or reach out to BRS. I’m sure they might have some information. Could you also run a 4’ and 2’ light bar?

Full tank dimensions help.
Also number of braces if any. And clear or opaque.

61" t5 Hybrid fixtures are around..

Thanks all,
72x30x25 probably going with Glass Cages with clear cross braces. Leaning towards a 2' & 4' inside a hood with cooling fans. Saw a nice design on this site for linear actuators to raise the hood. Deciding if I will build the stand or go with a steel frame. Thanks for the input.

I only have the 2’ aquatic life fixture but loving the hybrid light for my branching sps setup.

How is the spread front to back. Planning 30" and concerned I wont get full coverage. I butt-u-me raising the height and adjusting intensity accordingly would do the trick.

I run 2 reefbrite 36” T5 fixtures on my 72” tank (along with LED and Halide).

Everything is mounted to the canopy.

If you don’t want a canopy, an aquatic life hybrid fixture is probably your best bet.

Thanks BobNicaragua,
I am going to use a hood with linear actuators to raise and lower it. Looking into the T5 retros now. At first glance 8 x 36" bulbs means 4 kits at $100 each approx $400 vs 2 x 36" blades at $800 total. I have wired VHO and PC retros in the past so now leaning towards using them. The blades are 37.9" in length so they require the hood to be 4" wider than the tank. The retros would overcome this because they can be staggered. I will be using 3 Radion X30 G6. What do ya think? Open to all suggestions!

Be well

T5 and Radion are a fantastic combo, you really can’t do any better!

Really nice Frank. Two things.....
What is the distance between the fixture and the top of the tank.

I am going to be mounting my fixture horizontal (left to right) and I am concerned about the spread. My tank will be 30" front to back.

11” off the water , and if your tank is 30” you will be fine , I wish I had a little more in my 36”wide , I may add some 66” blades
