Anyone have a good dual Icecap gyre 4k setup?

I just installed 2 icecap gyre 4ks on separate sides of the tank (6 ft tank). I have them both vertical on the side glass. I'm looking for tips on the best way to set the flow up. I'd like them to be synced together and alternate from forward to reverse. Does anyone have a good setup for this? I also have an Apex but don't plan on using that for control of these yet except for feed mode.

personally I have mine on opposite ends horizontal. I run one at 50% and the other at 10% and then they switch every few hours. I like this because when they meet in the middle there is a little turbulence. not much but enough to give the corals a little bit of different movement when it hits.

there is a video that shows how to set up alternating gyre mode which I believe is what your looking for you just swap one cage on each gyre. definitely watch the video tho

I just put 2 4k's in my 180 this weekend. After talking with my LFS, he recommended that one side you have vertical and the other horizontal. That way you have a flow going around the tank top to bottom and around the tank front to back. This seems to be working well for me, it keeps everything moving on all sides of tank and helps keep behind the rocks a little cleaner with anything settling.

I never thought if doing that. do you keep sps. and do you see any lps towards the bottom that is pretty fleshy getting hit hard?

I do not have any corals in this tank. This is my predator FOWLR tank. I would not see there being any issues with LPS on the bottom since you can adjust the rates to fit your corals and you can adjust where they are pointing by turning the heads. You can always have them a little higher up on the glass so that they dont have a direct line on your corals or have them point towards the back of the tank from the initial flow so they are not in direct line of fire.
