I'm thinking about setting up a 20 gallon long tank with mangroves. I want to have some corals and fish that would normally be found near mangroves such as cardinals, crabs, anemones, etc. I want to see if anyone has done a tank like this and if so, what kind of livestock did you put in it. Also, if you have had a tank like this please post a picture or two.

Hi, I can't help but have seen a couple people post with mangroves in their tanks.

Let me give you a lil' bump and see if we can get someone to chime in :)

There are plenty of people doing this, one recently really caught my attention. Its about using mangroves to eliminate cyanobacteria. The therory may be proven already.

I have about 8 mangroves growing for about a year in a 5 gallon tank and am waiting for them to grow large enough to set up a real tank for them.

I have a couple in my sump. I've had luck with them and plan to add more. I wanted to test them out before adding more.

Got a couple with leaves and some real branching roots forming. They are in their own right something that needs to have its leaves wiped every once in awhile. What you want to do sounds awesome.

Najer, yours look better than mine

I am going to be setting up a display refugium with mangroves and such. Our plan is to get some seahorses and a mandarin goby.

Cool! Three of my favorite things. Nope, I'm old school. 250 watt MH. I'm sure they will grow under LED just not as fast.

Three months, grown from pods.
