I hope someone can give me some info on this little skimmer. I need a skimmer for my 58 RR tank and this one would fit size wise perfect. I have seen the bigger ETSS skimmers and they seem to work awesome but I don't know anything about the little ones. The price for them isn't too bad either around $250-$300.

If anyone has any other suggestions I would gladly look at them - I am a little skimmer challenged!! :marv I mainly know that I would rather not mess with a beckett type skimmer. Other than that I am open for any suggestions

thanks in advance
Patrick

I have used these before, they work pretty well. I would suggest going with a needlewheel skimmer of sorts for your system. There are many on the market and you should be able to spend less than what you would for a RD.

As much as I hate to admit it I have to agree with Rob. I currently run a ETSS skimmer on my 75 at home - well built skimmer that has been pretty much plug and play from day one. The only down side is they require a large pump to perform well. I run mine with a larger pump then recommended. With the price of some needle wheels on the market vrs how they perform they are hard to beat.

I had a similar skimmer- an Aqua C EV 150. It worked well, but needed alot of adjustment. Go with the Octopus NW 150, which is 139.00 at Premium Aquatics. Its a great skimmer for the money, and is basically a plug and play. I have a 65, with a Euro-Reef es 5-3. It does eally well for my system, and have no complaints as of yet.
Good luck!-Adam

I will be running a tunze 9010 on my 75. A lot of other people locally are running them and seeing good results. It leaves me a lot of room for a fuge in my sump too.

For that price range I would go with a Reef Octopus. I have a couple ETSS skimmers because I use to be a dealer. They are OKfor the money in my opinion but the Reef Octopus skimmers are great for the money!!

I would go with the ETSS sump buddy 40,I run one on my 120 and it kicks BUTT....Very inexspensive for what you get.
