Anyone have any experience with Imagitarium Black Sand?

Hey all I was looking at purchasing Imagitarium Black Sand (link below) from petco because it is cheaper than Caribsea and I am not worried about getting live sand and its beneficial bacteria because I can pull that from an existing tank and I'm patient. Has anyone had any experience or have warnings for this product available from Petco? It says it's safe for fresh and saltwater. Will this prevent good ph or cause other unforeseen issues? I used it to mix with my aragonite sand in my cichlid tank, for a look like the Caribsea African cichlid mix.
