I would like to put a cabinet door of sorts on the front side of my tank. Anyone have experience working on these 80/20 systems? I inherited it, so im trying to figure it out. I am generally handy.

Problem number one is I have to relocated the power strip on the front or find a way to make it look better.
  • Ive thought of painting the lights black kind of like how people black out head lights on cars.
  • I also can try to shift it back about 1/2' so that it doesnt interfere with a front cover.
As for the front cover. I saw some hinges on their website, but i want the front to look at clean or modern as possible where you can push on it for the front to open. I prefer that the hing and handle arent visible from the front. They have some nice PVC black panels. I like the look and that it is safe around water.

Thanks for the help!

That's a cool setup. I like the open look. Have you thought about no hinges and using either magnets or catches to hold panels on?

I literally just had that thought. I actually have that setup right now on my nano tank. I like the ability of completely removing the panels. Do you have pictures or a link if the hardware you used? I have series 15 80/20

I found a strike plate in the door hinge section at lowes and added magnets to the back of wood panels. The are sealed with kilz and have behr marquee on the top. The panels are completely removable for maintenance. Here it is!
