Just ordered their new 50g Artisan II setup and was wondering if anyone has experience with their tanks? Thanks.

I had a cad lights 50 gal full setup here is how I would grade it
The tank and sup themselves: A-
There were a few minor issues with edges not lining up perfectly but overall a great tank at a great price.
The skimmers: A-
I had the bubble magnus na6 and the one made by cad lights. The na6 is a beast but its loud. The cad lights one is silent but is way overrated gallon wise. No way it can do 150 gal. Perfect for a 50 though
The other stuff ie pumps lock line hoses bulkheads: B-
Cheap pumps that aren't very efficient. Cheap sump light that died after a month.
The stand: F-
Ugly and particle board. Save ur money here. Also it's really short.
Led pendant hangars: C
You can get more for ur money. Just make your own.

I have the 100 gal Cadlights Artisan II and it is awesome, the stand and sump are great too, I can't speak for the skimmer as I have the Reef octopus Ps 2000. But as I said before the tank in my opinion is awesome! Good luck with yours!

Very sorry to hi jack the OP...just register and was not able to PM...

I am also looking at the 100 gals Cadlights Artisan II turned key package on Cadlight website. Saw your replied to this thread...I am also interested in this system. Can you comments on the stand? Did you get an upgrade real wood stand or the plywood that comes with the package? If you have the plywood, how sturdy is the stand? How is the tank build quality? Can you comments on the sump, skimmer and return pump?

Thank you much and sorry for hi jack this thread...

I bought a Cadlights 39 cube used. Its a nice tank. It sprung a leak at the bottom seam that I had to drain the tank and reseal it. Not that big a deal. I really like the curved one piece frone and side galss. My only complaint is that the glass is easily scratched. Its low iron glass. Makes for nice viewing but you got to be rally careful cleaning it. THe bowfront design makes using a magfloat kind of pointless so once a week Ive got my arm in the tank cleaning the glass with filter floss. It came missing the top and when I called Cadlights to order the clips for a top it took several attempts to actually get hold of someone. Then when I finally did it was like I was talking to someone from their garage. Instead of identifying themselves as Cadlight, they just said hello. Then they told me that they didn't have any clips in stock except for the ones in tank packages and that they would order me some and to call back in a week. I finally got them but for 4 little plastic clips it took a month to get and $14.00.

Still reading up on this nice and decent tank...but have heard quite many complains about the CS, which is not good for their current, future potential customers. My concern is about the plywood stand...trying to get away from ordering a custom stand.

I can have the local fish store to order for me and pick it up from his store...to save money on the shipping charge. R u interesting in getting this Cadlight 100g Artisan II too?

I hear the newer stands are better. Made from wood, and not MDF. I am strongly considering the Artisan 100 gallon. If we join forces, we might be able to swing a discount.

I purchased mine from a buddy for a super good price. He only had it set up for nine months then had a second child on the way and was getting out of the hobby so he sold it to me!!! The stand is awesome must be one of the newer ones cause its wood and is painted with a really nice and thick water resistant paint . Super sturdy as well. I've had to push the tank about three feet away from the wall once to mount my vega's and the thing never even creaked! As for the return pump I haven't had a problem yet. The skimmer I can't speak for as I have the REef Occtopus PS2000. As rworegon stated though the glass is very easily scratched (starfire) so you must be really careful. My overall opinion on the tank is stellar! Good luck with whatever you decide!

The stand is now use plywood wood instead of mdf materials...that is what it listed on Cadlights...what kind of discount? The shipping is going to be over $200.

It is good to hear that the stand has been improved. How high is the stand? Is it 36"? The stand that you got is the standard not an upgrade right?

I am glad to hear a very positive comments for this 100 gallons Artisan ii. And also the cost is a lot less compare to Leemar.

Thx for ur valuable feedbacks on the stand...i don't have to order a custom stand if I pull a trigger on this package soon.

Is there any cosmetic issue with the black back paint with ur 100g Artisan ii tank? I have heard of the pain fr the back panel got bubble when the tank filled with water?

I'll call them and see, heck if we can save a 100, that's better than nothing!

I called Cadlights a few times, but noone pickup the phone...also sent an email this morning, but no response so far...

No not at all, it's not actually paint either it's some type of plastic but not like the backers you can buy and apply yourself. It's much higher quality stuff and as of now no peeling or bubbles yet.

I got the 100g from them two months ago stand, sump, skimmer everything but the lighting. I went with a geisemann instead. As far as the Cadlights equipment goes top notch! Customer service was great too always got ahold of them on the phone and they helped with all questions. The stand in my opinion is sleek and well built I went with the espresso color which is perfect for my house. The overflow is super quiet as well as the pump and skimmer. I'm partial to Cadlights because I love mine lol!

I am looking forward to getting my 100g. I ordered it 3 weeks ago but I am still waiting on it to ship. I had CAD modify the stand to 36" deck height, so they had to custom build the stand and modify the plumbing which created a delay. Trying to get a hold of them by email or the phone has been somewhat tedious since I swear it seems like they are screening their calls. Either way, I am still anxious to get the tank delivered so I can upgrade from my current system.

I went to the warehouse to pick mine up shipping was outrageous. Your gonna love it easy assembly and well worth the wait!
