So I posted a thread on this a while ago, about my concern for the weight on the tank. I'm still hesitant to hang around 30 lbs on my rimless tank..in fact 20 lbs sounds like too much. The tank is a solana, not the AIO but just the barebones tank with 5mm glass. I had decided on the smallest aquafuge 2, but I don't think I'm going to risk it since I can't seem to find evidence that my tank could support it.

Anyways, before I build the shelf behind the tank (for the medium one, building a shelf so why not) I want to know if anyone uses these HOB refugiums and if so what your tank specs are, it'd be much more convient to simply hang it on.. Thankss

I have one currently hanging on my ~15gal PicO rimless. I'm obviously using the smallest version for this size tank. Only been going for about a month or so though and I have a piece of acrylic in between (my background). No issues so far. Its leveling feet at the bottom tend to help with the strain on the top of the glass of it hanging off. Not convinced I'll even keep it to be honest, I don't really like the flow through it. Feels like I need a small pump to push through the refugium and thats running wide open on the stock intake/pump. But that's been my only concern or complaint so far.

I actually have the hang on the back CPR HOB Refugium. I love it because I get to store my cheato.

I have the large CPR aquafuge on my 55 and I know it is pretty heavy when it is full. I don't think I would risk the smaller one on a rimless tank without some support.

I use a cpr hang on the back aquafuge 2. The best investment for my 25 gallon. It houses my cheato, medias, and skimmer. Don't hesitate. Pump still running strong after one year and a half with no cleaning. I love it
