Anyone have experience with prazipro in a mature reef tank?

I have gill flukes and trying to weigh the possible consequences on corals and other inverts. Obviously have to take out the feather duster. Anything else?

Yes… safe to use but dose at 85% of recommended for 1 eight day interval, change water and one more eight day interval

Prazipro doesn't always kill feather dusters. If you do remove the duster, leave it in a tank with no fish for 35 days in case it has fluke eggs on it.

Always increase the aeration in the tank when dosing prazipro - a good air stone or two. Also, run your skimmer, just don't collect any skimmate.

I’ve used prazi in dt several times no I’ll effects. Never had feather dusters can’t attest to that though.

This. I dosed in the display and didn't loose any inverts, fish or corals due to it. Biggest thing is already addressed, lots of oxygenation, I pointed a powerhead at the surface and ran a few airstones.

My issue was running a high no3 & po4 tank, due to heavy stocking. Shutting down the skimmer for the duration of the 2x treatments resulted in a massive gha outbreak.

Yes and other than slight haze to water/ no issues
Do know that prazi can reduce appetite and oxygen within a tank
Adding air stone will help

Not to hijack the thread, but what if we are using prazi in a QT as a prevention (no known evidence of flukes). Should I run it for 5 or 7 days? Should I run it just for 1 cycle? Thank you.

No - I always use my quarantine systems for that, but plenty of people here have done it with no apparent issues. There will be some slight organic loading if you use prazipro (due to the solvent they use).

It will lower your nitrate, I did a test twice in the last month and it’s lowered mine ALOT

Yeah, that’s what it has to be. I was stumped from it . Dropped my
Nitrates from 7.4- 0.0
