Someone in my area is giving a few away and I’m interested in them, but not sure whether they’d be a good choice or not.

My main concern:

Aggression?

I’m also curious on how colorful they actually are? Pictures of fish you’ve had in your tank would be greatly appreciated.

After a bit of research, they seem to be pretty standard fare for damsels. They will have a tendency to pair off and can get aggressive as they grow and get territorial. From what I saw, they tend to be a less aggressive damsel, but still prone to it.

These are not true chromis, being from a different genera. I would say add with caution to a peaceful reef.

Thanks for the info!
If the current owner gets back to me I might give them a try. My reef is fairly peaceful, but my fish can all hold their own, so I think the new fish would be put in their place rather than heckling my current fish. I’ll move them on to a new owner if they get too mean though. I don’t have any yellow in my tank right now, so these guys would be perfect.

I’ll also keep an eye out for them pairing up and beating on the odd man out. If that becomes an issue I’ll remove the third wheel.
