Anyone have Nero 5 reviews vs. MP40...?

Im interested in hearing reviews of the Nero 5 from users vs. the MP40’s.

I've got both and the only 3 differences I see are the mp40 has no cord in the tank but it costs $110 ($366.50 vs $249.99) more for no cord. I like that I can move the Nero to clean the glass around it just by grabbing the magnet.

The mp40 has 500gph more flow but I'm not running it that high so to me the Nero was a great a addition.

Final difference is it's controllable out of the box, I have an Apex with wxm to control the mp40 but again additional cost.

Nero are good for smaller tanks they don’t compare to MP40 when it comes to pushing water a bit on the weak side

I have started to use a toothbrush to clean the glass around my Nero 5.

It’s 48”x24”x24”. I was going to do one on each side.

2 can work but for higher demand corals like sps not sure, of course this is just my personal opinion but Nero’s are a bit weak side, my friend has one in a 40 breeder and barely gets flow at the other end

I run 2 Mp40s on my 48" x 24" x 24" on my heavy sps system and im just about to add a third, although I can see why the Nero is more appealing with that saving.

Kind of an old thread but I'm interested since I have to replace an MP40QD on my 90g. I have 2 and LOVE them but the bearings are shot and I am having a difficult time justifying the money to replace the dry sided. I'm sure the op has chosen by now but one thing I was thinking that instead of 2 MP40s, you can get 3 Neros for the same money and easily make up the flow difference. In my case, I could get a new Nero for the price of a dry side... still undecided though. Are there differences in noise?
