Tinted glass (not the film, glass that’s actually smoked) I made a diy sump and this worked like a charm.
What’s the bucket method? However, I used the bucket method . No algae growing in sump
My DIY sump has a piece of black plastic as a divider/weir. I keep the light low down, seems to work pretty well
So like a second mini sump. Okay. I’ve seen this for live rock tooUsing one of the outlets on your return , plumb into the bucket back into sump area. Using items from your local hardware store
Apologies if this is a dumb question, as I'm new. How can you tell if the plastic is aquarium safe?My DIY sump has a piece of black plastic as a divider/weir. I keep the light low down, seems to work pretty well
Genius! For the overflow of my refugium I sandwiched black silicon between two pieces of glass. The glass they sell at hardware stores is super thin so this has the added effect of making it strong enough to do the job.

I'm not entirely sure, but any type of acrylic or plexiglass is reef safe. PVC seems to be reef safe. I'd take a look at some of your plastic on your equipment and decide.Apologies if this is a dumb question, as I'm new. How can you tell if the plastic is aquarium safe?
