Colony of zoas that have been around forever in my tank. Been so long, I cannot remember their name.
Anyway, a few weeks agi, I noticed that a couple of them were extending up off the rock, now they look like this

Never seen it before, in my tank or anyone else's. Wonder if it's because they have nowhere else to spread, (there's some pavona next to it).
Anyone else experience anything like this?
Will they eventually break free?

TIA

No I haven’t seen that before. Very well could be because they had nowhere else to go. Not sure if they will break free or not you could always frag them off.

how close is that pavona to them? pavona have a nasty sting, could be trying to get away.

+1
Good eye on the Aiptasia.
Don't have to look hard/far to see one. lol Went out of town for two weeks and they exploded while I was gone.
The zoas started to reach before the aptasia farm took off.
The pavona has encrusted pretty much up to the zoa colony.

My new zoa's frag look exactly same.Zoa's are same too;)
