Anyone having success running MXM module long distance from lights. I've posted in the Neptune Apex Forum but not a lot of detailed replies on how to make this work.

Willing to run a cable from sump room to where main reef is, but its 100' away ( cable seems to be an issue there. ) No good solutions offered.

The apex forum answers from Apex Guru seemed more like a statement not a solution.

A detailed pla on how to run my MXM module 100' away from any other Apex equipment is the answer I'm hoping to get. The G6 Pro radions are in a world of there own ever since I added the MXM module. Color scenes changing all the time, lights going missg, lights turning off and on for no reaso, wake up in the middle of the night 1 radion will be all white at 100% maybe another 1 at 20% all blue.

No ryme no reason, just randomness.

Unhooked MXM, back to mobius and all perfect.

Thanks in advance for any solution to running an MXM module with consistancy 100' away from Apex

Just as a general comment... I've found that the more wireless devices I have hovering around my tank (not just the Radions and Neptune gear, but iPads, iPhones, etc.) it tends to lead to more Apex disconnects, Radion lights going missing, etc.

The good news is that the maximum AquaBus cable length is 200' - so you should be able to connect several variations of AquaBus cables together (M/F, M/M, etc.) so you can relocate the MXM near your tank.

Love your tank! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Make sure the cloud checkmark beside the Radion is unchecked. I had the same constant dimming and ramping up until I unchecked that box. You can also buy 50’ cables with a male/female end to run 100’ without issue. I did this for my AWC system.

Wouldn't you need male on both ends ? can any USB cord work, I was told aquabus was proprietary

I'll check the cloud Icon, thanks

If you find a full length then yes. Male to male. There are some 33’ and 50’ adapters w male and female to extend the runs. So you could get two male/female and a short male/male to finish it off.

And it does not have to be the Neptune apex aquabus cable? any usb cable will work, I've been told that is not the case.

Update, Apex was ZERO help, 10 emails back and forth ZERO help. First time for me ever they left me hanging. I guess I'm just doing something they dont want to support ( Reading between the lines )
I've order qty - 2 50' usb 2.0 cables aand 1 - 6" male to male cable.
Thanks for everyone's help. Reef2Reef was surely more help than Neptune Systems. :)
