Anyone hinged the Innovative Marine mesh screen top kit?

We would like to create a 24" x 18" screen top and ideally we would like to 'hinge' the outside 4-6 inches for easy feeding access to the tank. Is this theory feasible? Are there any other options for an approx 24x18 screen top with feeding access port?
