Been seeing for years at night. Stretches out for miles, and when startled, retreats in a fraction of a second.
Produces mucus...LOTS of mucus. Seems like it uses the mucus to build some sort of sand protection for itself. Looks like it has a pair of eyes. Lol

polychaete of some sort. Probably a variation of a bristle worm. Not sure which one though. Any particular reason you caught it?
 
The seam in the tank he was in failed, I came across him when I was scooping out the sand.
 
Thats a bummer! I have bristle worms that do the samething in my diy sump between the baffle seams. My bristled worms look a little different but that could be the lighting. Some people hate them some people like them. Personally i like them i treat them as part of the cuc. If you haven't noticed any problems with him destroying stuff i saw let him live another day. Never know when you need the extra mouth to eat something dead in your reef.
