do you know what the tap water tests out to be?
is it safe to use in an aquarium?

or how would i go about finding out if the water is safe to use?

Savannah is an hour north of me, but I have no clue about the tap water being safe for use in aquariums. You could call exotic underworlds and ask them. They are not to far off of abercorn on montgomery crossroads. 912 921 1718 is their phone number.

I found the water test results from 2007 and they are the same as Atlanta's. What is the range of copper, iron, and chlorine acceptable for aquariums?

keep in mind that water quality can very from house to house depending on what type of piping it has to travel through before it gets to your faucet. They sell RO/DI water at health food stores like Fresh Market and GreenLife. I don't know if you have those in Savannah, but I would recommend that. In Chattanooga, its fairly cheap. Or you could get an RO/DI filter to run your tap water through first. I've been considering getting one of those. I'm no expert, but I think copper is really bad for a reef aquarium. As for chlorine, if you use a declorinator in your tap water, you should be fine. The kind I use is called Prime.

Hi,
My friend and I have used city of savannah water that have been filtered through RO Filter and used it for our reef tanks for 3 years. we had great results. currently we have a 300g system with alot of coral and live rock. so please contact me if u need any help. also you can measure your tds reading of your water after running through you ro. and make sure to replace your RO or DI when it needs it.

Thank you and good luck.
