I just picked one up. Anyone have experience with this fish? I know they will eat shrimp but my Bangaii Cardinal ate all my shrimp long ago so that won't be an issue.

Wait. What? Your bangaii ate your shrimp? Now I will be looking at mine differently lol. I have a falco hawk. Love him he is pretty funny. Follows my hand around in the tank.

There were about a dozen peppermint shrimp. They are all gone now.

That bangaii is a full grown beast. It hunts the shrimp down at night when the lights are off. I won't put anymore in there now. I've had that bangaii for almost 5 years now. You don't see them that size in the store.

Lovin this fish already. It's not with any other fish yet so I may hate it later but it's an awesome fish. It ate like a pig already and I just got it into QT.

I have a 6 line and everyone that comes to my house freaks out if how big he is. The guy that I bought the tank from had him for 4 years and me 1. He's a killer LOL

I haven't had any problems with the hawk. When I put the bangaii in he didn't even look at it the bangaii was super tiny too and I was worried

Talk about a cool fish. I with I would have bought one a long time ago. It's eating like a pig and doesn't bother any other fish. It isn't bullied by any other fish either. No signs of disease. I'm adding it to my display this weekend if everything keeps going well.

Been in the display for a week now. No aggression with the other fish. They seem to ignore it. Could be the sharp looking fins on it's back that make fish stay away. I've never had a hawkfish since they were known to eat shrimp but I think I prefer this fish over any shrimp that I could put in there.

Looks beautiful!

I had a hawkfish as well. I thought he had ate a fire shrimp of mine, but it turned out the shrimp just molted. So I guess your peppermints would've been safe. I wisj I had a little patience rushed to throw my hawkfish in the predator tank because I thought he ate a $40 shrimp. Unfortunately he didn't last long enough for me to get him out. Theu have good personality when they're young. When they get older I think they are meaner.
