Im contemplating a niger trigger in my reef tank and cant makeup my mind. Ive seen people that kept them for less than a year and said theve been doing well, not to aggressive just keep them fed and they have left everything alone. So Im looking for firsthand experiences from people who have kept them a little longer.

I had one jump out .I also have had Blue throat and Cross Hatch Triggers in reef. I know you will loose your shrimp if you have any. You also seem to feed more than you want to in a reef.

Nigers are great as babies so to speak but as they get adults, sexually mature,they do not have to be big, the males, they become very aggressive especially if it is less than 200g tank and I have seen them turn into mean machines even in tanks over 500g.
Blue jaws although not as striking as the red tooths, as nigers are also called, blue jaws are safer in your reef tanks and one of the more docile triggers. Just some added info. for consideration. Pink tails are also considered to be somewhat "reefsafe" but rather drab in color. No trigger is 100% reefsafe or any of your toothed marine fish.
