Got from lfs on small plug.. some sort of crusting plate or fungie but it’s too small for me to tell exactly what kind. Need to know so I can properly place if for lighting needs. I had it in shaded corner originally and it wouldn’t open till today when I put it near center of tank on bottom so it likes a little more light then the 50-75par I was giving it originally..

See that’s the route I was heading down but it didn’t like the low lighting I put it in.. I’m leaning towards this... which is the best representation I’ve found for it however this is and SPS coral and the store I got it from only deals in softies and few easy to keep Lps.. granted a Povona are about one of the easiest to care for sps but where I got it from and how it’s reacting to flow and light don’t mix lol. This is what happens when you buy a $15 “assorted” frag.. never really knowing what you have just trying to baby it along till it’s big enough to tell.

I will say if you look close it does looks like it’s trying to go verticals like a typical cactus style povona would.. but the way it’s encrusting the plug is still confusing me.

I’m no expert but I had a jack o lantern lepto looked just like that but orange only reason I said this.. but someone will respond with the correct name for this coral

Input is appreciated.. I’ll keep it is lower lighting for now till someone knows otherwise. Better to be a little under lighted then blasting it with 300par..

I would agree mind was in lower part of tank and grew like crazy
