Hi-
I just bought this guy on Sunday and I got him because he was being picked on by a clown. Anyway, he has been hanging out right here pretty much since i got him. He eats when I put food in and sometimes he goes up and down the tank a few times. Maybe this is normal for him?

Thanks in advance for your help!

hi,is he in qt tank? any places to hide?

No he isnt but I was going to move him to one now. I just set one up but not sure if that will stress him out more

You may feel sheltered in the corner, although going up and down are usually symptoms of wanting to jump in the wrassers, your tank has a lid

Its almost like he is going up for air but his breathing doesn't seem labored

try leaving in dark tank ,unless feel emergency ,call reefsquad

give him a chance here #reefsquad lets get some expert eyes on ;)

A video sometimes helps give us a better idea as to the fish's behavior - swim bladder issues cause the fish to struggle a bit, while it wanting to hide in the corner would look a bit different. The best way to post a video I think is to send it to youtube, or at least resize it before attaching it. The fact that it is feeding is a good sign, keep tabs on that.

Agreed that a video will reveal more that someone can help you with. Could this be oxygen deprivation? How much flow do you have in your tank? If can’t post a video, can you provide more info on the type of system you’re running?
