Anybody have a clue on what type of crab this is ,or if it’s beneficial or pest ? Found this guy while cleaning one of my quarantine tanks.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

The claws on that crab seem to indicate that you don't want it in your display, but could you get some brighter (white) lighting for these pics?

Some crab ID advice: take a pic of the front like you did (mainly to show the claws - good job there - but also a little to show the face), and also take a pic of the back of the crab (take the pic from above the crab looking straight down at it - this shows the shell and back of the crab, which can both be important for ID too).

some top-down photos of the crab's back (including some that show the portion of the shell by the crab's back legs) may be helpful with ID

Looks like some sort of swimming crab, based on the last pair of legs.

Swimming crabs aren't particularly safe and some can get big but they're fun to watch. Definitely not beneficial but someone would probably want it.

I was in a similar situation where I didn't want to kill a hitchhiker crab and bought a 2.6 gallon fluval tank for it. I feed it Crab Cuisine and it keeps getting bigger. It might be a bit overboard for you but its always an option.

It looks like a hammerhead shark but a crab instead :face-with-tears-of-joy:
