These were attached to live rock I bought last month. They are growing. Carpet anemone? The other one?? Reef safe? Tank is now nearly 3 months old. Cycle completed (Does it ever really complete? lol) 3 weeks ago. 340 gallon display/160 gallon sump. I'm taking things slowly. So far have 15 small fish and one large clam that I only discovered last week embedded in live rock. But these 2 critters shown are growing and I'm trying to put a name to them and would like to know if they're safe.

First one looks like montiporia. Not too sure what the second is called but I’ve seen them before

Wow!! I've been googling these and just found Mushroom but not Favia. So I scored well with the clam (attached) and now these! Thanks folks! I must be doing the right thing - so far anyway!

I'm thinking about my lighting options in the long term as right now it's all LED up top. I scored a T5 unit last week but not certain what the blue zone will do for my future inhabitants. Lighting is one area I am pretty ignorant of. When I had marine tanks over 25 years ago, what was available was pretty limited. Boy have things changed and I get confused by the new terms. What's the deal with 'T' followed by numbers? Because I plan on a hybrid tank, I need to get this area right. As I said earlier, my "relapse" into marines started only a few months ago when I decided to buy this tank. Outlay was a lot but hey, I'm happy. I want to make this my dream tank for my 'twilight years'.
I'm going to shoot over to the lighting forum next so I can read up and plan properly.
I leave you with Mr Clam trying to filter a meal. I had no idea he was part of the rock he's very embedded in. In fact, this rock was almost upside down a month ago. When I rescaped, I noticed him. With all that calcification he's got to be fairly old. He can hardly open. I thought about giving him a hand by scraping some stuff off, but I think it's too risky.
Thanks again folks!
